Course Withdrawal

Types of Drops/Withdrawals

 See the Enrollment Calendar for specific dates mentioned below, including census date, end of 80% of term, etc.

  • Drop
    • Through the end of the Add/Drop menses.
    • No reason or approval is required.
    • Y'all may driblet directly in MyCSUSM.

    No W grade is assigned and the course is non listed on your transcript.

  • Early Withdrawal
    • Afterwards Add/drop through the solar day before census
    • No reason or blessing is required
    • You may withdraw directly in MyCSUSM.

    A West grade is assigned, which will announced on your transcript.

  • Mid-Session Withdrawal
    • Census to the twelfth week (or eighty% point) in the semester
    • Must be for serious and compelling reasons.
    • Approval from Dean or Dean'south designee of the College of the pupil's major (or Dean of Graduate Studies for Graduate students) is required.

    A W course is assigned.

  • Belatedly Withdrawal

All withdrawal petitions require a 'serious and compelling' reason, including documentation. See below for examples.

How to Petition for a Course Withdrawal

Undergraduate students may employ the Withdrawal Petition located in MyCSUSM under the Academic department of the Student Centre.If you are not an undergraduate student or if you receive a message that states that the petition is not available, please emailregistrar@csusm.edu for a dissever form.

Please review and complete each section of the petition, and be certain to upload your argument of withdrawal and supporting documentation on the terminal folio.

  • How to Submit

     (1) Select the Withdrawal Petition in the Bookish Section of the Student Centerwithdrawal dropdown

    (2) Select the eligible term for the enrollment y'all wish to petition to withdraw (note: the withdrawal petition is available to all undergraduate students from census engagement through 1 year afterward the end of the term)

    (3) Review the Withdrawal Petition Instructions. Check the box(es) if yous are a fellow member of any of the groups listed (check all that employ).

    (4) Select the courses from which you wish to petition for withdrawal.

    (5) Click the Withdraw from Selected Courses push.
